We both just turned 50 years old...

I would like to have insurance but me and my husband cannot afford it. We both just turned 50 years old and this is the time we need insurance. We need something done for the people who cannot afford full price.

I passed out one day...

I passed out one day while waiting for the bus and had to go to the hospital. My bill was almost $2,000. I told then I didn't have insurance and they sent me home. I still got a bill, and when I told them I wasn't able to pay, they told me not to get sick anymore if I couldn't pay!

I am slipping through the cracks...

I can't afford to pay for regular insurance for myself or my 16 year-old daughter. I make too much for Medicaid and not enough for other insurance. I can't afford any prescription medication for myself or my daughter. I am slipping through the cracks.
