As the Senate debates healthcare reform proposals it is critical to push our legislators and President Obama to consider the affordability of health coverage as they further refine and vote on legislation.   

The Senate just released "The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act" that is estimated to provide healthcare coverage to 94% of the American population.  Check out the resources below to learn more information.

The Cost of Care: Can Coloradans Afford Health Care explores questions about what does affordability mean for Colorado families?  How should policymakers address affordability?  And what reasonable definition of affordability would ensure that all Coloradans can access health care?
 

Gov. Bill Ritter signed House Bill 1293 on April 21, 2009.  The Health Care Affordability Act will reduce the number of uninsured and increase hospital reimbursement rates. The resulting cost savings will benefit consumers, businesses and providers.

Senate Bill 228, will help Colorado avoid making the current budget cuts permanent, maximize federal recovery dollars, and get the state's economy back on track more quickly by addressing current economic realities and putting all of the state's priorities on a level playing field.
