Governor Signs Health Care Affordability Act
Gov. Bill Ritter signed House Bill 1293 on April 21, 2009. The Health Care Affordability Act will reduce the number of uninsured and increase hospital reimbursement rates. The resulting cost savings will benefit consumers, businesses and providers. The state will generate $600 million a year through a hospital provider fee, and that will be matched by $600 million in federal Medicaid funds.
