Colorado Voices for Coverage and All Kids Covered Conference a Success!

Colorado Voices for Coverage and All Kids Covered would like to thank all of the participants and sponsors of the CVC/AKC Conference held on December 1, 2010.  Approximately 90 health advocates joined CVC and AKC for the day-long conference to discuss the changing landscape of health care in Colorado, especially in light of crucial pieces of the national reform bill that will be implemented in the coming year.

Participants were given the opportunity to think about health reform in a new context, as Linda Walling, Executive Director of Faithful Reform in Health Care, presented on national reform with a faith-based perspective. Other speakers included Jo Donlin, of the Division of Insurance and Mike Kulisheck of Harstad Research Inc.  Conference attendees were given the opportunity to hear from two State Legislators, Representative Beth McCann and Senator Linda Newell about Colorado’s upcoming legislative session in respect to health-related bills, as well as Colorado’s state budget.

Advocates spent the afternoon discussing topics ranging from faithful implementation of the national bill to Colorado’s future Health Insurance Exchanges to navigating changes to public coverage in Colorado.

This event was sponsored by The Colorado Trust, and Health Care for All Colorado.  Thank you, again, to all those who helped make this day a success and to our wonderful sponsors!
